PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk brake to be used for a motorcycle, preventing the generation of unusual noises such as brake noises. SOLUTION: A brake pad 22 suspended down from a pad pin 24 is pushed at its upper end against a pad receiving face 8a on a turn-in side by a cover spring 12 and pushed at its lower end against a pad receiving face 33b on a turn-out side by the cover spring 12. A direction in which the brake pad 22 is thrust by the cover spring 12 is therefore opposed to a direction in which the brake pad 22 is moved with force of friction against a disk D during braking, and so the brake pad is put in a stable condition even during initial braking (slight speed reduction), thus suppressing the generation of brake noises and minimizing the generation of the noises.
