PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a good coating film by suppressing the amount of a loss of product at the starting of coating and a non-steady part of a joint part or the like of a web. SOLUTION: Coating is applied to a continuously traveling web 13 such that wetting film thickness becomes 25μm or less. A die 11 is placed on a frame 17 on a movement base 16 and movement speed of the die 11 is made to 3-30 mm/sec. Prior to the starting of the coating, a pressure reduction blower 36 is previously operated at an operation condition of the optimum pressure reduction degree in the coating of the steady part. When the joint part of the web 13 passes through a coating position, the die 11 is moved to a retracting position and is returned to the coating position after passing. Even at this movement, the pressure reduction blower 36 is under the operation condition making to the pressure reduction degree of the coating of the steady part. When the joint part passes through the coating position, a distance L1 of the coating position and the retreating position is made to 50μm to 20 mm. Thereby, the amount of a loss at the non-steady part is suppressed and a good coating film can be obtained. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
