PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shelf device adaptable for various different width dimensions of gaps, capable of utilizing the whole width of gaps, and excellent in the stability against overturning. SOLUTION: The shelf device can automatically adjust a gap formed when a chest and a cabinet, etc. are set side by side to the width dimensions of the gap by adopting a link mechanism, and the shelf device hardly overturns forward as force is applied in the cross direction of the gap with the weight of the shelf device itself and articles put on the shelf and the device is firmly brought into contact with the chest or cabinet or the like on both sides of the device. Further, in the shelf device, a shelf board is attached as cantilevered/connected only to the rear surface of the shelf device, and the position of the shelf board in the middle is free, and as a shelf side member is eliminated, the whole width of the shelf device can be utilized.
