MANUFACTURING METHOD OF PAINT FOR CATALYST LAYER OF SOLID POLYMER TYPE FUEL CELL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a paint for a catalyst layer of a solid polymer type fuel cell for preventing production of an aggregate of a polymer or carbon fine particles, and uniforming the distribution of the metal catalyst in the catalyst layer.

SOLUTION: This manufacturing method of the paint for the catalyst layer of the solid polymer type fuel cell includes a catalyst dispersing process 1 for producing a catalyst solution by dispersing catalyst 13 in a solvent 14 containing a polar solvent 16; a mixture liquid adjustment process 4 for adjusting a mixture liquid of the catalyst solution produced in the process 1 with a polymer liquid; a paint filtering process 5 for producing the paint for the catalyst layer by filtration of the mixture liquid adjusted in the process 4; and a paint defoaming process 6 for defoaming the paint produced in the process 5. The manufacturing method is provided with a polymer filter refining process 3 for subjecting the polymer liquid 15 adjusted in the process 4 to a filtration process at least once by using a polymer filtration filter before the process 4.
