SOLUTION: A portable telephone set 1A inputs code information from a code and downloads a Java(R) application for providing information/service from a site on the Internet 3 which is specified by an access URL included in the code information and performs the Java(R) application to receive information/service provided from the site, i.e. an information providing server 4A, on the Internet 3 which is specified by the access URL.
