<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor in which an atmosphere side insulator is fixed onto an atmosphere side cover at a predetermined position, and which is hard to cause the dislocation of the atmosphere side insulator and breakage of a sensor element. <P>SOLUTION: The gas sensor comprises a sensor element 29, a housing 10, a measured gas side cover 109 and an atmosphere side cover 11. The sensor is provided with an atmosphere side insulator 3 comprising a plurality of pinching members 61, 62 configured to pinch, from the outside, a side end portion of a proximal end of the sensor element 29 inside the atmosphere side cover 11, at the side nearer the proximal end than an element side insulator 2. The sensor is further provided with a pressing spring 32 which presses and fixes the pinching members 61, 62 from the outer periphery. The pressing spring 32 comprises a main body fixed to the outer periphery of the atmosphere side insulator 3 and a fixing piece 321 which fixes a tip end portion onto an inner surface 110 from the main body toward the inner surface 110 of the atmosphere cover 11. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
