PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a local low rigidity region between writing electrodes or between wiring patterns, and to prevent a writing head from waving or cockling by stably touching a latent image carrier. SOLUTION: In the writing head 3 having a plurality of writing electrodes 3b arranged on a flexible supporting basic material 3a and forming an electrostatic latent image on a latent image carrier 2 by touching or approaching it and applying a writing voltage thereto, and in the image forming apparatus 1 equipped with the writing head 3, a part 10 for reinforcing rigidity in the main scanning direction is formed integrally with the flexible supporting basic material 3a. Since a local low rigidity region does not exist between the writing electrodes 3b or between wiring patterns, the writing electrode 3b can touch the latent image carrier 2 stably.
