PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable preventing incorrect detection of snowfall when outside temperature is about 0 to 4<SP>o</SP>C. SOLUTION: When an outside temperature detection sensor 10 detects that outside temperature in the vicinity of an earth surface is about 0 to 4<SP>o</SP>C, a switching part 9 selects an electrode switching pattern (a first electrode 3 and a second electrode 4 of an electrode 2) wherein detection sensitivity becomes the lowest and it switches electrically, based on outside temperature information (an electric signal corresponding to the outside temperature) input from the sensor 10. Thereby the malfunction that a detection signal is output can be prevented even if snow with small particle size falls under these conditions. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
