HAND PATTERN SWITCH DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hand pattern switch device with good operatability which easily and properly inputs operating information for controlling the movement of an on-vehicle device.

SOLUTION: An image making area making image of a hand and fingers using a camera is defined as an area in which a driver steering a steering wheel at the lateral side of the steering wheel can extend his arm while keeping his driving posture. Especially, the image making area is set as a position at least 50mm spaced apart from the outer peripheral portion of the steering wheel, is set as substantially rectangular-shaped area having about a length of 600mm in a direction of tip of a finger of the hand which the driver steering the steering wheel extends while keeping his driving posture and having a width of about 350mm in a direction of width of the hand.
