<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a modified method and device for the preparation of an array of material. <P>SOLUTION: This method is for removing a protecting group from a nucleotide and includes a process for removing a protection group from a nucleotide using alkylamine diluted with H<SB>2</SB>O. In this case, each array contains materials comprising a polymer, a low molecular weight molecule, or an inorganic material which is preselected, each material is combined with surface of a substrate.
