PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To minimize the constraint of a constant density ratio by using an expansion device in accordance with the flowing direction of a refrigerant, and to achieve high power recovering effect in a wide operation range. SOLUTION: This refrigeration cycle device uses carbon dioxide as the refrigerant, comprises a compressor, an outdoor-side heat exchanger, the expansion device and an indoor-side heat exchanger, and operates a Peltier element by the electric power obtained from the motive power recovered by the expansion device. The indoor-side heat exchanger is used as an evaporator, and the refrigerant is cooled by the refrigerant between an outlet of the expansion device and the indoor-side heat exchanger by using the Peltier element.
