PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a good rolling bearing, suppressing torque loss due to sliding friction while securing necessary sealing performance even when receiving pre-load in the axial direction. SOLUTION: The rolling bearing 51 comprises a plurality of balls 24 rollingly arranged between inner and outer rings 53, 22 and a pair of circular seal plates 26, 27 covering opening portions at both axial ends of the bearing. The inner peripheral faces at both ends of the outer ring 22 are provided with a pair of seal locking grooves 36, 37 in face symmetry to a reference face C<SB>L</SB>passing through raceway groove centers and being orthogonal to across the bearing axial direction. The outer peripheral faces at both ends of the inner ring 53 are provided with a pair of seal grooves 55, 56 which have different clearances Li1, Li2 from the pair of inner and outer rings 53, 22, when arranged with the raceway groove centers corresponding to each other, to be positioned in asymmetry to the reference face C<SB>L</SB>with a difference depending on the size of an axial internal gap.
