PURPOSE: A device for protecting an input and output port in a portable terminal is provided to prevent the loss of a cover by connecting a data cable to the input and output port without separating the cover. CONSTITUTION: A cover(121) is combined with a main body(10) by hinge to be rotated between an opening position and a closing position. The cover(121) is rotated and accommodated in an input and output port accommodation portion(14) in the opening position when a data cable is combined with an input and output port(15). When the data cable is disconnected with the input and output port(15), the cover covers the input and output port accommodation portion(14) in the closing position. A recovery spring(124) is installed between the cover and the main body(121) so that it is possible for the cover to be recovered from the opening position to the closing position.
