PURPOSE: A presser of a sewing machine is characterized by fitting a lower end of a pin fitted into a concave part of a two-stage rod into a groove for fitting the pin, not sliding the lower end of the pin on the presser back and forth, minimizing fluctuation of pressure, reducing abrasion of the lower end of the pin, not protruding a base end of a crank piece from a left side of an arm of the sewing machine and being capable of keeping area for an energy economizer. CONSTITUTION: A presser of a sewing machine comprises: a push up lever(1) supported by a spring, rotated and installed on a back of a frame; a continuous lever connected with the push up lever(1); a shaking shaft supported on a pusher(10) to rotate and fixed on the continuous lever; a presser(4) connected to an end of the shaking shaft with a pin and formed a pressing device(4a) on an end; a two-stage rod(20) containing a guide face for the presser(4); an elastic member hung on the two-stage rod(20); a pressing bar(5) containing the elastic member; a concave part formed on the two-stage rod(20); a groove formed on the presser(4); and a pin fixed loosely on the concave part and a lower end of the pin fixed on the groove.
