PURPOSE: A method for detecting the amount of dust and giving an alarm for a vacuum cleaner is provided to offer convenience to a user by giving an alarm if the current frequency of the vacuum cleaner is more than the setting value. CONSTITUTION: A method for detecting the amount of dust and giving an alarm for a vacuum cleaner comprises the steps of: counting and memorizing the frequency of the vacuum cleaner in use(100); comparing the current frequency of the vacuum cleaner in use with setting value(102); and giving an alarm if the current frequency of the vacuum cleaner is more than the setting value(104).
