<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high luminance light emitting device having an excellent heat sink, a long life, a wide operating temperature range and high productivity, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The high luminance light emitting device includes the case 20 of a cubic shape made of an insulating member for fixing and electrically insulating a plurality of conductive members 21a, 21b and 21c to and from each other, an LED 33 mounted on one conductive member for constituting the case to use the conductive member as a heat sink, and a sheet-like circuit substrate 31 fixed to an upper surface of the case in such a manner that the substrate is connected to the LED 33 by wire bonding and the members 21a, 21b are electrically connected to the substrate 31 and are used as the electrodes of the LED 33.
