PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coder, a coding method, a program for the coding method, a decoder, a decoding method, and a program for the decoding method, to which a processing related to a serial concatenated trellis coding and a serial concatenated trellis coded modulation are particularly applied to enhance the performance. SOLUTION: A second coding processing 107 being an inner code convolution coder performs no coding or provides an output of a coded sequence wherein an impulse response is finite and a coded sequence wherein the impulse response is infinite, and an interleaver 106 before the second coding processing 107 avoids the sequences from being intermingled.
