PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device in which replacement of an ink tank or the like can be appropriately carried out because a remaining amount of ink can be visually confirmed, confirmation is facilitated because a printer is seen at the time of setting papers to the printer or removing papers after printing, and the ink remaining amount can be confirmed even when a power supply of the printer or a host computer is in an OFF state. SOLUTION: The whole or a part of the ink tank is made transparent, and at the same time a part (home position) of a printer enclosure is made transparent (a confirmation window). Thus an amount of the ink inside the ink tank can be confirmed without opening an upper face lid of the printer. Moreover, confirmation windows are set at a front face and an upper face of the printer, thereby enabling the confirmation from the front and above. An illumination is set to make it easy to see the inside of the ink tank, and moreover the illumination is turned on when a head is positioned at the home position, thereby enabling urging of the confirmation to the user.
