<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of easily interconnecting an MPLS network and a GMPLS network. <P>SOLUTION: IP networks 1, 2 comprises their respective routers 11, 12 supporting an MPLS. A transport network 4 comprises core units 24a-24c supporting a GMPLS.Edge units 21, 22 each supporting both the MPLS and the GMPLS are provided in the boundaries between the IP networks 1, 2 and the transport network 4. A path 31 based on the GMPLS is set up between the edge units 21 and 22. A path 32 based on the MPLS is set up between the routers 11 and 12.
