PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize smoothness, to uniformize adhesive strength, and to improve ultrasonic sensor sensitivity, by applying a polymer material on a recessed part on the whole surface of a matching layer comprising a mixture of a hollow sphere and a bonding material. SOLUTION: The matching layer 13 is formed by forming a coating layer of the polymer material on the wall surface of this matching member 12 side and then cutting it, and thereafter the polymer material is formed on the matching layer adhesive surface. The wall on the matching member side is ground and then coated with the polymer material, and after cutting the matching member, the matching layer surface is coated and formed by the polymer material. The whole surface of the matching layer is coated by the polymer material as mentioned above. This ultrasonic sensor using the matching layer is also provided. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
