PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce vibration and noises of a submerged pump by preventing the submerged pump in a pump gate from sucking air. SOLUTION: The horizontal shaft type pump gate is provided with the submerged pump for forcibly draining water toward the other side from one side of a door 2, and is provided with a projecting part 6 projecting toward the bottom of a waterway from above a water surface so that the water flow direction in the vicinity of the water surface on one side gently changes toward the bottom of the waterway.
