PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid jet device capable of stably ejecting a liquid drop and performing high frequency driving. SOLUTION: A pressure generating chamber 3 has a Helmholtz resonant frequency of a cycle Tc. A driving signal includes a first signal factor S1 for expanding the pressure generating chamber 3, a second signal factor S2 for contracting the pressure generating chamber 3 in the expanded condition, and a third signal factor S3 for expanding the pressure generating chamber 3 to be in a condition as before the first signal factor is outputted after a liquid drop is ejected. The third signal factor includes a first stage factor S3a for expanding the pressure generating chamber 3 to be in an intermediate contracted condition that the pressure generating chamber is contracted more than the condition that the first signal factor is outputted, and a second stage factor S3b for expanding the pressure generating chamber 3 in the intermediate condition to be in the condition as before the first signal factor is outputted. At least one of an applying time and a gradient of the first stage factor S3a and the second stage factor S3b is not substantially continuous. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
