METHOD FOR CONTROLLING DATA TRANSMISSION RATE IN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE: A method for controlling a data transmission rate in a communication system is provided to assign and control the transmission rate of an R-SCH(Reverse link-Supplemental CHannel) on the basis of an ROT(Rise Over Thermal noise). CONSTITUTION: A base station sets an offset value of data transmitted to a reverse link according to a data transmission rate. The base station sets the total offset value of the entire channel capable of being accommodated to the reverse link as the total capacity. The base station decides the assignment and control of the data transmission rate of an R-FCH(Reverse link-Fundamental CHannel) and an R-SCH according to the limit of the total offset value.
