PURPOSE: A character input method of a mobile communication terminal is provided to minimize the number of button inputting and quickly combine characters by matching consonants and vowels to numeric keys and function keys according to the correlation of form or pronunciation characteristics. CONSTITUTION: In a mobile communication terminal in which Hangul can be inputted by pressing consonants and vowels matched to numeric keys(0-9) and function keys(*,#), consonants having mutual connection in terms of a form or pronunciation characteristics including single consonants and dual consonants are disposed to be matched to one button centering on a diagonal line connecting the numeric key '1' and a function key '#', and vowels having mutual connection in terms of type or pronunciation characteristics are matched to one button at the other side, for inputting a character.
