PURPOSE: A zoom lens is provided, in which a compact wide zoom lens has a telecentricity adaptive to a solid charge coupled device as well as with an excellent color aberration. CONSTITUTION: A zoom lens includes a first lens group(1), a second lens group(2) and a third lens group(3). The first lens group(1) has a negative refractive power. The second lens group(2) has a positive refractive power. And, the third lens group(3) has a positive refractive power. The first to third lens groups(1,2,3) are subsequently arranged from the object. The zoom lens is characterized in that the first lens group(1) and the second lens group(2) are reduced during the variation of the magnification and the distance between the second lens group(2) and the third lens group(3) is increased.
