FRICTION DAMPER FOR PREVENTING RATTLE NOISE FROM GEAR INSTALLED IN GEAR SHIFTING APPARATUS SUCH AS MANUAL TRANSMISSION OF VEHICLE

PURPOSE: A friction damper and a gear shifting apparatus thereby are provided to prevent damage of the friction damper against a rotating member, and to mount the core easily without deformation by processing the surface of the core with hardening treatment. CONSTITUTION: A friction damper(7) is used for a gear shifting apparatus including a gear shaft(2), a gear(1) penetrated by the gear shaft and a needle roller(4) inserted between the gear and the gear shaft, and composed of a core(8) attached around the gear shaft or the gear and an elastic member(9) integrally formed with the core and composed of a rib sliding on the rotating member and plural lubrication oil passages formed in the rotating member. The core is composed of a cylinder part(10) mounted around the fixing member, and a disk part(11) formed in the edge of the cylinder part near the needle roller and extended radially.
