SUBSTANCE: process comprises reaction of aqueous solution of alkali or alkali-earth metal tungstenates or molybdates with alkali or alkali-earth metal silicate or phosphate. Reaction is carried out under reflux conditions. Resulting solution is purified to remove impurities. Treatment of aqueous solution including heteropolyacid and salt impurities is performed using organic solvent in at least one liquid-liquid extraction stage, said solvent being dihydrocarbyl ether containing at least 5 carbon atoms.
