<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a driving circuit for a plasma display panel which uses a low_dielectric_strength switching element. <P>SOLUTION: In the driving circuit for the plasma display panel, switching elements Ys and Yh are connected in series between a + power source Vs/2 and a panel capacitor Y electrode, and switching elements Yl and Yg are coupled in series between a Y electrode and a power source -Vs/2. Capacitors CYs and CYh, and CYl and Cyg are formed in the switching elements Ys and Yh, and Yl and Yg, a diode Dys is connected in a reverse direction between the connection point of the switching elements Ys and Yh and a ground line O, and a diode Dyg is connected in a forward direction between the connection point of the switching element Yl and Yg and the ground line O. When the Cys has a smaller capacity value than the Cyh and the Cyl has a larger capacity value than the Cyg, the dielectric strengths of all the switching elements can be maintained at Vs/2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
