PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of magnetic recording medium by which a stabilizer contained in a magnetic layer does not bleed out onto the surface of the magnetic layer and the stabilizer is not volatilized and the stabilizing function is not lost during preservation even when a magnetic recording medium is preserved for a long period of time and to provide the magnetic recording medium obtained by the manufacturing method. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of magnetic recording medium includes a step for providing the magnetic layer by applying and drying a coating liquid containing ferromagnetic powder and a binder on a substrate directly or via a non-magnetic layer. A polyisocyanate compound and the stabilizer having a functional group reacting with an isocyanate group are added into the coating liquid. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
