PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To mix a plant-based bedding with activated carbon or carbonaceous matter having an adsorbing property and use the mixture as the bedding. SOLUTION: This carbonaceous matter-containing bedding for livestock such as cattle, horse, pig, sheep, goat, or domestic foul is characterized by mixing the plant-based bedding with the activated carbon or carbonaceous matter having the adsorbing property and then using the mixture as the bedding. The plant-based bedding includes wood chips, wheat straws, crop wastes such as rice straws, wood sawdust, barks, chaff, and bran, and the crushed products of waste wood such as building waste wood or thinnings.
