PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor device which enables detection of a current direction. SOLUTION: In an semiconductor device having a semiconductor substrate 1 wherein a power device with a major path C wherein a detection current flows is formed, the major path C has a branch part provided with a first branch path B1 which makes the detection current flow only in one direction and a second branch path B2 which makes it flow only in the other direction opposite the one direction parallel. It has a first temperature detecting element D3 whose energization amount changes according to temperature change of the first branch path B1 which is generated according to flow of the detection current, and a second temperature detecting element D4 whose energization amount changes according to temperature change of the second branch path B2 which is generated according to flow of the detection current.
