PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine an accurate note and note value, and to increase the rapidity of processing when the sound signal of a singing voice or music is input and the sound signal is output as time series data of the note and the note value. SOLUTION: The rapidity of processing can be increased by determining whether time-consuming frequency analysis is necessary or not by conducting preprocessing of the digital signal of the sound signal before extracting a pitch. And the voiced section and the voiceless section can be discriminated accurately from the power information of each frame that can be acquired after frequency analysis, and the utterance starting point can be detected accurately from the change rate of the power of each frame. By doing these, the serial voiced section where one note is considered to be uttered can be detected accurately. Also, the formation of the time series information of the favorable note and note value can be realized by consolidating note information with dispersion which exists in each serial voiced section into one note information.
