PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a component inhibiting dendrite elongation of melanocyte and useful by this action for ameliorating dyschromia against which a melanin production inhibitor caused by ordinary tyrosinase inhibitory action is not effective or on which the inhibitor does no much effect. SOLUTION: The skin care preparation contains the dendrite elongation inhibitor of melanocyte, composed of a compound represented by formula (1) and/or its salt. Methylophiopogonanone A (formula 2), opiopogonanone A (formula 3), opiopogonone A (formula 4) or methylophiopogonone A (formula 5) (wavy line may be present or not; R<SB>1</SB>and R<SB>2</SB>are each independently a 1-4C alkyl group or hydrogen atom) is preferable as the compound represented by formula (1).
