PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid ejection detector for accurately detecting liquid ejection from a head. SOLUTION: The liquid ejection detector has a plurality of first lead wires arranged in parallel and a plurality of second lead wires arranged in parallel in the direction substantially perpendicular to the first lead wires. Ejection/unprojection of liquid from a liquid ejection head is detected based on presence of a lead wire touching ejected liquid in a lattice-like electrode 9 arranged at a position where the liquid ejected from the liquid ejection head 6 touches while touching the liquid ejection head 6.
