PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a hard U-shaped columnar body such as a stainless steel shelf plate to be easily and manually cut by anybody, and to beautifully finish a cut section. SOLUTION: A cutting device comprises a loading stand 10 to load a U-shaped columnar body to be cut, and a movable blade 30 to fit a tip portion to the loading stand 10 via a transverse shaft 31. An upper edge of an end face of the loading stand 10 forms a fixed blade tip 13. A groove-shaped columnar body holding unit 21 to perform the shape-keeping and the positioning of the U-shaped columnar body 40 is provided on the loading stand 10. The columnar body holding unit 21 comprises a groove-shaped receiving surface 22 to be abutted on inner and outer surfaces and an end face of a leg piece part of the U-shaped columnar body 40 and a planar receiving part 23 to receive a columnar body part 41 of the U-shaped columnar body 40.
