PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal strip working method for sufficiently demonstrating lubrication effect on drawing and ironing of inner wax added to a resin coating. SOLUTION: When performing the multi-stage can manufacturing of a metal strip 1 coated with a paint 3 containing inner wax on the side of the metal strip for cans corresponding to an outer surface of the cans, the temperature Tp (°C) of a punch in contact with the side corresponding to an inner surface of the can is set to satisfy Tp≤150(°C), and a medium to cool the punch is brought into direct contact with a member to constitute an outer surface of the punch.
