PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lock which is resistant to unauthorized unlocking even if breakage, i.e. separation of a dead bolt from a receiving hole, occurs, dispenses with attachment of a hook-shaped additional member to the tip of the dead bolt, and thereby is easy to manufacture. SOLUTION: The lock has the dead bolt 11 having a notch portion 41 formed therein, and the dead bolt 11 is retractable to a lock main body by rotating operation of a cylinder lock or a thumb turn, whereby the dead bolt 11 is protruded to enter the receiving hole 50. The lock is comprised of a parallel displacing means and a rotating means, and when the dead bolt 11 is protruded from the lock main body 10, the dead bolt 11 is protruded in a manner being displaced in parallel up to a predetermined location by the parallel displacing means and then rotated by the rotating means.
