PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a backing conditioner for an air permeable wallpaper and a method of sticking the air permeable wallpaper suitable for repairing various wall surfaces and ceiling faces of a building or the like and exhibiting an excellent effect in sticking and stripping the air permeable wallpaper having excellent air permeability, aesthetic design and mildewproofness. SOLUTION: This backing conditioner for the wallpaper is obtained by mixing a water soluble hardener formed of a mixture of a cationic styrene-butadiene copolymer and a methacrylic aid cyclohexyl copolymer, in a compound with methylcellulose added and mixed in a main substance formed of a mixture of white cement and ultrafine particle-like anhydrous silica. After applying the thus obtained backing conditioner for the wallpaper to the wallpaper sticking wall surface of the building or the like to repair the wall surface, the air permeable wallpaper is stuck.
