PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide glass pane holding structure that can reduce the size of glass and the size of a holder for holding it and facilitate the recycling of glass. SOLUTION: Recesses are formed near lower ends of the front face 1a and the rear face of a glass pane 1, and a pair of holder members 2 can be easily mounted to the glass pane 1 by fitting projections 23 formed at the holder members 2, into the recesses. The work of detaching the holder from the glass pane 1 can also be easily performed to facilitate the recycling of glass. The strength degradation of the glass pane 1 in the case of forming the recesses in the glass pane 1 is less compared to the case of providing the glass pane with a through hole. Consequently, the recesses can also be arranged near side edges of the glass pane 1. As a result, the glass pane 1 can be made compact, and the holder members 2 can also be made compact.
