PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a closing cover assembly and its mounting method for closing an opening of a steel pipe member formed at a U-shaped plate joint by simple field work. SOLUTION: An end joint 1 of the steel pipe member 2 constituting the skeleton of a steel pipe steel tower, forms the opening 9 at the end of the steel member, and the opening 9 is closed with a closing cover 10. The closing cover 10 is formed of an elastic material of almost the same shape as the opening 9. A fall preventive fitting 11 fixes the closing cover 10 to the rear 4a of the end joint 1. An elastic sealing material is filled in a clearance between the closing cover 10 and the inner surface of the steel pipe member. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
