PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper mixed with used tea leaves to utilize the antibacterial function of natural tea leaves without using an antibacterial agent. SOLUTION: Used tea leaves are crushed to pieces and entangled with fibrous pulp to form the tea-leaf containing paper containing 1-98wt.% used tea leaves in the paper. The crushed tea leaves are nearly uniformly dispersed or unevenly localized to increase the amount at one or both surface layers. The antibacterial function is developed by the antibacterial component of the used tea leaves such as catechin and polyphenol. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
