PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonhalogen-based flame retardant resin composition having high flame retardancy, requiring no use of additives such as other flame retardants, flame retardant assistances and the like to improve flame retardancy. SOLUTION: The flame retardant resin composition comprises (A) one or more species of epoxy resins, (B) a curing agent and (C) a curing accelerator. A specific P-containing compound is used as the curing agent of the ingredient (B). The flame retardant composition has excellent flame retardancy and thermal stability without adding a flame retardant agent, a flame retardant assistance and the like containing halogen ingredients and other harmful materials and effectively dissolves influences on environmental pollution and safety caused by the halogen ingredients in conventional flame retardant compositions, problems on health and the like caused by the flame retardant, the flame retardant assistance and the like containing the harmful materials.
