PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rock wool molded article which has biodegradability, high mechanical strength, and easy processability, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This rock wool molded article in which rock wool is bound to each other with the cured product of a biodegradable resin is characterized in that the cured product of the biodegradable resin is a product obtained by curing a liquid containing the biodegradable resin. This method for producing the rock wool molded article is characterized by mixing the rock wool with the liquid containing the biodegradable resin and then curing the liquid containing the biodegradable resin to form the cured product of the biodegradable resin. Further, the method for producing the rock wool molded article is characterized by impregnating a rock wool preliminarily molded article with a liquid containing a biodegradable resin and then curing the liquid containing the biodegradable resin to form the cured product of the biodegradable resin.
