SURGE PROTECTION APPARATUS

PURPOSE: A surge protection apparatus is provided to protect a system from the impulse surge generated from a lightening discharge, while allowing for a galvanic coupling of input and output required for the power voltage of the antenna amplifier. CONSTITUTION: A surge protection apparatus comprises a low frequency line(6) and a second de-coupling filter(7) directly coupled between the contact of a first de-coupling filter(4) and a gas arrestor(5) and an output terminal entering the circuit. The low frequency line includes a low voltage limiter and a low pass filter. A T-shaped high pass filter is connected to a high frequency line(3). The low voltage limiter is constituted by a bi-directional diode, and the low pass filter of the low frequency line endures the surge voltage generated by a breakdown of the gas arrestor.
