PURPOSE: A device and a method for an e-mail service are provided to make an e-mail receiver transmit a reply as an SMS(Short Message Service) by offering an SMS gift certificate when the e-mail is transmitted. CONSTITUTION: An e-mail server(110) sells the SMS gift certificate, manages the information of the sold SMS gift certificate, and transmits the e-mail to a receiver by attaching the SMS gift certificate to the e-mail written by a sender. If a transmission request of the SMS by the SMS gift certificate is received from the e-mail receiver, an SMS server(130) provides the SMS by referring the information of the SMS gift certificate transmitted from the e-mail server.
