<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery, using a niobium oxide and a lithium aluminum alloy as electrode active materials, cannot cope with the demands for voltage reduction. <P>SOLUTION: The nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery uses a niobium oxide as the positive electrode active material and a material including Si as a negative electrode active material. The use of Si and SiO as the negative electrode active material, having a charge/discharge curve with a slope, as compared to conventional lithium aluminum alloys, which has a sloping charge/discharge curve to the battery, thereby providing a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery which can cope with various demands for equipment manufacturers for voltage reduction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
