<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more appropriately determine the residual value of a used cartridge and improve the rate of recovery of the used cartridge. <P>SOLUTION: The value point of each of the composing members of a toner cartridge is determined based upon the actual use information of a toner cartridge read from a storage element of the toner cartridge (S100, S110), and the thus determined value points of the composing members are totaled to calculate the value point of the toner cartridge (S120). The calculated value point of the toner cartridge is registered in a value point database (S130), and a selling price when the toner cartridge is sold as a fresh one is set based upon the calculated value point (S140). As a result, the residual value of the used cartridge is appropriately determined and the rate of the recovery of the used cartridge can be improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
