<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display whose visual angle characteristics are improved and which is nearly free from coloring and has excellent visibility. <P>SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display having a liquid crystal layer interposed between upper and lower substrates opposed to each other and provided with an upper polarizing plate and a lower reflection polarizing layer on the upper and the lower sides of the liquid crystal layer, respectively, the lower reflection polarizing layer 6 has a dielectric lamination film 40 formed by laminating a plurality of dielectric films on an inclined surface of a cross sectional triangle wave like protrusion 42 and the dielectric lamination film 40 is formed so that the film thicknesses in the ridge line part and the trough line part of the protrusion are different from each other. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
