<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple and efficient method for recovering valuable metals and steam from shredder dust causing little environmental pollution. <P>SOLUTION: This efficient dust treatment method comprises: a first process of heating dust containing valuable metals and polymer compounds at 450-700°C in a reducing atmosphere to obtain vaporized gases from the polymer compounds and incombustible with the valuable metals condensed therein, a second process of recovering the incombustible and using the recovered incombustible as smelting materials, a third process of burning the vaporized gas at 800-900°C by supplying oxygen-containing gas to it, a fourth process of recovering fly ash from the exhaust gas after combustion, and a fifth process of washing the collected fly ash with water to recover the obtained residue and using the residue as smelting materials, and further a steam recovering process from combustion exhaust gases is performed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
