PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus to achieve high-quality bonding and its method, and particularly realize shortest time bonding in the so-called ball-wedge bonding. SOLUTION: A converter (12) is arranged between a vibration guide (13) and a bonding tool (18) so that it may be used to convert the linear vibration to the radial vibration, which enables the bonding tool (18) to be in an excited state for radial or rotational vibration. The tool head performs rotational vibration, or a twisting movement, through its bonding tool. The energy of this vibration can be always transmitted in the same way at the same transmission rate, irrespective of the positional adjustment of the conductor to the bonding tool.
